Calls For Safer Traffic Measures Outside Offaly Primary School

Cloghan Primary School is looking to improve safety measures around the school.

An Offaly primary school is highlighting concerns over the speed of traffic around the area during school hours.

Cloghan Primary School missed the application for the Safe Routes to School Programme, which is aimed at making walking, cycling, and wheeling to primary and post-primary schools safer and more accessible.

Assumpta Connolly, Secretary and PRO of the Parents’ Association at Cloghan Primary School, believes that the installation of pencil bollards would be a beneficial addition, helping to alert motorists to what lies ahead.

She says urgent action is needed in order for traffic to slow down:
