Calls For Stricter Enforcement Of Law At Dumping Blackspots In Laois

He's highlighting some of the worst hit areas.

A Laois councillor is calling for a stricter enforcement of the law at dumping blackspots. 

Conor Bergin says CCTV systems should be installed in areas around link roads to the M7, which are seeing the highest volume of illegal waste being left at the roadside.  

The council confirmed that landfill sites in Portlaoise and Portarlington, which were closed to adhere with government guidelines, will re-open on 5th May.

The Fine Gael rep says those closures should not been seen as mitigating circumstances:
