Calls To Implement "One-Stop-Shop" For People On Autism Spectrum

A similar scheme has seen success in Scotland.

The Government is being urged to develop new "one-stop-shops" for people on the autism spectrum.

Longford Senator Micheal Carrigy proposed the idea, which would see community-based supports, similar to those seen in Scotland, introduced here.

Some of the services provided in the scheme would be advice and information, one-to-one appointments and peer support groups.

The Fine Gael rep says the success of the service in Scotland highlights the need to develop it here:
