The Westmeath cancer support sanctuary is advising people to make alternative travel plans.
Car parking charges simply add to the stress already felt by cancer patients.
That's the view of the General Manager of LARCC in Mullingar, Bernie McHugh, who is appealing for patients to get a lift to hospitals, where possible, to avoid the fees.
The Irish Cancer Society has been campaigning for the abolishment of parking charges for the last 10 years to no avail from the government.
