Sean Ó'Fearghail has written a response to the North's First Minister.
The Ceann Comhairle says a controversial tweet by Sinn Féin's Brian Stanley about two IRA attacks needs a "credible political response".
Sean Ó'Fearghail has replied to the North's First Minister, saying he's "pesonally appalled" by the comments tweeted by the Laois-Offaly TD.
Arlene Foster had written to the chair of the Dáil, questioning why "someone with such warped views can hold a senior position".
Deputy Stanley - who's chair of the Public Accounts Committee - has since issued an apology and deleted the posts about two attacks during the Troubles and the War of Independence which killed 35 British soldiers.
He's due to address the matter with his Oireachtas committee colleagues later today.
I had written to the Speaker of the Dail following the SF TD’s appalling comments about the Narrow Water Massacre. This evening, I received his reply.

Important that action is taken. Brian Stanley’s comments were shameful and deeply offensive to innocent victims. pic.twitter.com/ivHFDvXMQZ
Vice Chair of the PAC, Deputy Catherine Murphy, believes there should be some form of censure for the comment:
