Westmeath Fire and Rescue Service is urging people to check their alarms.
People are being urged to test their fire alarms regularly and make evacuation plans as part of Fire Safety Week.
The week campaign is about "Safety Together" which aims to make people stop and think about others in the community who might not have a working fire alarm.
