Passing pedestrians and motorists account for the vast majority of littering in Offaly.

Pedestrians create 42% of litter, while motorists account for 25% with most litter coming from people smoking, eating and drinking.

Cigarette related litter is the biggest contributor in the county making up 80% of waste, significantly more than the 55% nationally.
