Longford Westmeath TD Peter Burke believes we need more clarification on if more tariffs are coming after yesterday's announcement.
The pharmaceutical industry is not included in the tariffs announced last night.
However its feared the US could announce further penalties which will impact the sector in the coming weeks.
Over 77-thousand people are employed by pharmaceutical and medical device companies in Ireland.
Enterprise Minister and Longford-Westmeath TD Peter Burke says a clearer picture is needed from the US:
The Irish Farmers Association says the difference in tariffs will impact Irish products like 'Kerrygold' in the US.
It says the fact that New Zealand has a 10 percent tariff on dairy products - and the UK has a 10 percent tariff on drinks - while EU tariffs are at 20 percent, will leave Ireland at a disadvantage against its largest competitors.
IFA President, Ballinakill's Francie Gorman says there will also be confusion for traders on both sides of the border:
Ryanair's Michael O'Leary says the tariffs announcement is "deeply damaging" to the world economy and American consumers are the ones who'll suffer most.
He says the US needs proper leadership:
