Maganey Community Group says the plans will affect land, roads, and the broader community.

A public meeting is to be held this evening for those with concerns regarding a proposed new Midlands solar farm.

The meeting will be held at 8pm in Levitstown Hall on the Laois Kildare border this evening by members of the local community, as concerns continue to grow over the scale of the development and its potential impact on the local community.

Irish renewable energy company BNRG is proposing a solar farm that would extend across the townlands of Beaconstown, Johnstown North and South, Kilkea Upper and Crooket.

The Maganey Community Group is encouraging as many to people to attend as possible, stating that this will affect "land, roads and community around us".
