One councillor thinks the length of time taken to complete projects is 'suspicious'.

Concerns are being raised over delays to works by the ESB in the midlands.

Laois councillor Aidan Mullins is concerned that the electricity company is being paid upfront for works and thinks the length of time taken to complete them is 'suspicious'.

He was referencing a further delay to the undergrounding of overhead cables in Portarlington, which are now expected to be finished seven months after their initial commencement date.
