The €10 million project has been given the green light.
A new €10 million primary care centre is coming Laois.
€200,000 in capital funding is being allocated so that planning can begin at the St. Fintan's Hospital site in Portlaoise this year.
Four GPs have signed up to use the facility, which will also be made available to other practitioners on an ad hoc basis.
The project will be entirely managed and controlled by the HSE under their 2020 capital programme.
