Consultants Studying Traffic Patterns In Westmeath Town

The local authority is looking at ways to ease congestion in the town since the roll-out of a smart traffic light system.

A study into traffic patterns is taking place at four junctions in Mullingar.

Consultants are collecting data on journey times and driver behaviour to establish the reasons for tailbacks.

Westmeath County Council's Sub-Committee on Traffic has been looking at easing congestion in the town since the roll-out of a smart traffic light system.

Committee member and Green Party councillor Hazel Smyth says they expect a report back around September 21st:
