Concerns are being voiced around the impact of the legal aid dispute on victims of domestic violence.
A dispute between the Law Society of Ireland and the Justice Minister is continuing, over a single fixed fee of €520 for representation in criminal legal aid cases in the District Court enforced in July.
It means there has been a significant drop in the number of solicitors offering free legal aid across the Midlands.
Anne Clarke is the CEO of Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service and says that shortage means victims may have to represent themselves in court.
She says it's leaving some of them re-traumatising situations:
