Gardaí in Laois have caught a motorist travelling at 182 kmph on the M7 yesterday.
The Road Policing Unit discovered the vehicle had no tax, insurance, and had recently failed the NCT for major faults with its braking system.
Gardaí on patrol also stopped a vehicle travelling at speed through Stradbally last night.
The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Both motorists are heading to court.
