A drunk driver has been caught travelling at 169kph in Laois.
The car was detected by Laois Roads Policing Unit on patrol on the M7 near Portlaoise yesterday morning.
The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested, with further samples showing they were twice the legal limit.
They've been charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court.
Another motorist was caught travelling at 144kph by gardaí on patrol in Laois over the weekend.
Two vehicles were also seized for no insurance.
Proceedings have been commenced against all of the drivers.
