Westmeath will receive the highest amount in the midlands.
Over €1.3 million is being funded to protect archaeological monuments across the midlands.
The funding comes from a wider €8 million allocation supporting 104 heritage projects across the country, with the grants aimed at assisting owners and custodians of archaeological monuments in protecting them for the future.
Just under €600,000 will be awarded to eight Westmeath projects under the 2026 Community Monuments Fund.
€484,000 will go towards four Laois projects, with €260,000 heading to Offaly for two projects.
