€100,000  in LEADER funding is being allocated to the development of a new enterprise and community hub in Carlow Town.

The Hive at Enterprise House would be located on the O'Brien Road.

The Hive will act as the new headquarters for Carlow Chamber.

Three new fixed-cost enterprise offices and a dedicated Business and Community Clinic Room will also be available to tenants of Enterprise House and the wider community.

It will provide a professional and confidential environment for mentoring sessions, advisory services, business clinics, counselling, legal consultations and a range of community supports.

It also aims to address a recognised gap in the local market by providing accommodation for small businesses employing one to three people.

CEO of Carlow County Development Partnership Annette Fox is welcoming the news and says the LEADER programme continues to support rural communities, enterprise development and job creation throughout the county.
