It follows a €300k investment three years ago.
A midlands leisure centre is in line to receive an investment of over €160,000.
The facility in Portarlington has been allocated funding from the Large-Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund.
It'll be used for essential refurbishment and safety works in the centre.
The facility previously received a €300,000 investment in 2020, bringing the total to almost half a million euro.
Laois Offaly Fianna Fáil TD, and Junior Foreign Affairs Minister Sean Fleming says:
"Portarlington Leisure Centre provides a vital service for people of all ages.
It is important that people are active and take part in sports and this facility provides that."
Offaly Green Party Senator and Junior Agriculture Minister Pippa Hackett says:
"I’m delighted that this funding is going Portarlington Leisure Centre.
It is a fantastic facility which services communities in Laois, Offaly and beyond.
Access to local facilities is so important for both physical and mental wellbeing and this government has ambitious targets to get as many people participating in sport as possible.
Funding of this nature ensures the continuance of this vital amenity for the community."
