Supreme Court Decision On Laois Windfarm Provides "Good Clarity" - Environment Minister

The ruling is expected to set a precedent on planning permission applications.

The Environment Minister says more time is needed to assess a Supreme Court judgement on a Laois windfarm. 

The decision to reverse the denial of planning permission for the Coolglass Windfarm in The Swan and Timahoe is expected to set a precedent when it comes to renewable energy project applications.

Local Authorities county development plans are now expected to have to take far more consideration for the State's obligations when it comes to the Climate Act.
