Brussels intends to continue Ireland’s Nitrates Derogation beyond 2025.
The European Commission will propose a continuation of Ireland's Nitrates Derogation beyond 2025.
The proposal sets out a three year extension subject to certain conditions.
Those conditions include the need for Ireland to conduct environmental assessments at catchment level to demonstrate compliance with the EU's Habitats Directive.
