Former Offaly School Principal Says Coronavirus Guidance Hasn't Changed

It’s after a student became the first person confirmed in the Republic to have Covid-19.

Around 450 students at a secondary school in Dublin are staying at home for the next two weeks as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus.

It’s after a male student, who recently returned from northern Italy, became the first person confirmed in the Republic to have covid-19.

He’s now being treated in hospital in isolation.

Staff and students will receive a text message every day to check on their condition.

Former Offaly school principal and General Secretary of the Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools, John Irwin, says the information issued to schools hasn't changed as a result of the diagnosis
