Education and training boards in the Midlands will receive a funding boost through new capital funding grants for 2025.
Out of a national funding pool of €8m, the ETB'S for Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford can expect a maximum grant of up to €435,000.
The exact grant amount depends on the amount of ongoing small-scale projects such as minor site works, buying and replacing equipment.
Upgrades to computer and science labs, apprenticeship tools and improvement works to FET buildings are also covered under the funding.
SOLAS will distribute the funding to each ETB which comes directly from Project 2040.
