Shannonbridge's Paddy Kearns is undergoing physiotherapy after suffering paralysis.
His family is walking 1200 kilometers in the 12 day before Christmas to raise funds for his care and recovery.
They have set up a Go Fund Me page called "12km of Christmas for Paddy".
