The victim of a tragic drowning in Laois at the weekend will be laid to rest on Friday.
Michael Timmons, of Dr. Murphy Place, Portlaoise got into difficulty while swimming at Derryounce Lake in Portarlington last Saturday afternoon.
He was taken to Portlaoise Regional Hospital, where he died a short time later.
His funeral mass will take place in Ss. Peter and Paul's Church in Portlaoise this Friday at 12 o'clock, before being laid to rest in Ss. Peter and Paul's Cemetry.
