A man in his 60s lost his life in the incident.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the death of a man in his 60s in a crash in Portlaoise.
The collision occurred around 1:45pm yesterday afternoon on Coote Street in the town.
The road has since re-opened following a forensic examination.
