A collision occurred near Edenderry this morning.
A motorcyclist in their 20s has been killed in Offaly following an incident this morning.
It occurred just after 10 o'clock on the R401 near Edenderry.
The man was seriously injured when his motorcycle left the road.
Emergency services attended the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Collision investigators are examining the crash site and the road remains closed to traffic this afternoon.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone that was on the Clonbullogue to Edenderry road around the time of the incident to contact them in Tullamore Garda Station on 057 932 7052.
The man's body has been taken to the mortuary at Tullamore Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
