A man has been arrested after the discovery of cocaine and heroin.
A man in his 40s is being questioned after Gardaí seized more than €8m worth of drugs in a major operation tackling organised crime.
16 properties were searched in Westmeath, Laois, Offaly Meath and Dublin over the past two days.
Gardaí seized in excess of 110kg of suspected cocaine and 1.5kg of suspected heroin, with an estimated street value of €8.2m.
Additionally, cash totalling £38,000 sterling and €63,000 was confiscated.
A man is being held at a Garda station in the Dublin region in connection with the investigation.
