Social welfare payments are set to increase by €10 per week beginning in 2026.
This budget is a 'slap in the face' to Carers who believed in the government to honour their promises.
That's according to Offaly Councillor Aoife Masterson, as social welfare recipients will see a €10 weekly boost starting in 2026.
This applies to payments such as the state pension, disability and carer’s allowances, the one-parent family payment, and jobseeker’s allowance.
The Sinn Fein rep believes the government doesn't appreciate the money they save every year thanks to the work of carers.
