That's the advice to drivers this weekend, as a major road safety operation is in place across the country.
Gardaí have set up check-points nationwide to encourage good driver behaviour, after 143 people were killed on the roads already in 2024.
6 people have been killed on roads in the midlands so far this year with 3 deaths in Westmeath, 3 in Offaly and Laois being the only county in the Republic without a road death.
