Investigating gardaí have identified a woman in her 20's in relation to a widespread scam.
Gardaí in Laois have identified a "glamorous" young woman as the focus of their inquiries into alleged ticket fraud.
The Irish Independent is reporting that a well-known woman in her 20s is the subject of multiple complaints from people who paid for Electric Picnic tickets and never received them.
It's believed the scammer has a serious gambling problem.
While investigating officers expect an arrest to made in the coming weeks over the fraud which is suspected to be in realm of €80,000 or more.
There has been significant social media attention on the story with some posts pointing the finger at the wrong high-profile Laois woman for running the scam.
Gardaí are urging people to report any suspicious activity and to avoid third-party sellers for sold-out events.
Victims are being urged to contact the Garda Confidential Line or any Garda Station.
Electric Picnic gets underway on Friday August 29th at Stradbally Hall.
