The studio was granted planning permission a year and a half ago.
The development of Ireland’s largest film studio in the midlands has been ‘on ice’ for 18 months due to a number of global issues.
That’s according to Tom Dowling, Studio Executive of Mullingar Film Studios, which received planning permission in September 2022.
The war in Ukraine, and rising interest rates and construction costs have had an impact on the development.
Mr. Dowling admits it wasn’t the best time to progress with the building:
