The measure is due to come to an end this year.
The Government is set to explore alternatives to Rent Pressure Zones before they expire at the end of this year.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has signaled changes to the system, including the possible removal of the zones.
The system was introduced in 2016 to cap rent increases in areas with high demand for housing.
