A survey of 275 registered GPs across the country by the Irish Independent shows the most expensive appointment was at a Dublin City practice for €80, while the cheapest was in Monaghan at just €30.
Appointments in Laois cost €50 to €70, while it's €60 in both Offaly and Westmeath.
The survey showed a sharp rural/urban divide with the lowest cost GP in an urban area anywhere in the country still coming to €50.
