Growing Speeding Issue Reported In North Westmeath

Westmeath County Council is being called on to address the problem.

There's calls on the local authority in Westmeath to address a growing speeding issue on a number of roads in the north of the county. 

Aontu leader and Meath-West TD Peadar Toibin says constituents have reported a growing number of "boy racers" in the Castlepollard and Collinstown areas. 

Their concerns have been echoed by Gardai, who say the limited number of officers in the area is impacting their ability to police the problem.
