House Prices Continue To Rise As Buyers Grow Cautious

According to the latest IPAV Property Price Barometer, national property prices increased by 3.6%.

The rising cost of buying a home is making buyers more cautious.

The latest IPAV Property Price Barometer shows prices increased by 5.6% in Offaly in the first half of the year, 4.5% in Laois, and 3.5 % in Westmeath.

The figure nationally it 3.6%.

The group says the shortage of available homes is likely to keep prices elevated.

Chief Executive of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers, Genevieve McGuirk says affordability is being stretched to its limits, particularly for first-time buyers:
