A long awaited insulin pump clinic for Portlaoise Hospital is closer to becoming a reality.

The HSE are announcing the role of Senior Dietician, required to oversee delivery of the service, has been approved.

Currently patients, who don't have access to private pumps, must travel to Dublin and further afield to receive the treatment.
