HSE Urged To Immediately Deal With Backlog In Westmeath Special Needs Services

A local TD says early intervention is pointless if children are missing important therapies.

The HSE is being urged to immediately deal with a backlog for special needs services in Westmeath.

The Disabilities Minister has confirmed the Springfield Centre in Mullingar will reopen this Monday.

Sinn Féin's Sorca Clarke says that's welcome news for parents and children who've had rely on online meetings for vital occupational, physio and speech and language therapies in recent months.

But the Longford-Westmeath TD says early intervention is pointless if children are missing important appointments:
