The investment is being described as another major boost for the area.
The IDA has announced a major €12 million investment at its industrial park in Mullingar.
The development agency is progressing with plans for an Advanced Building Solution Unit at Marlinstown.
Subject to planning permission, this would see a ready-made facility constructed so companies could relocate to the area without delay.
Junior Minister and Longford-Westmeath Fine Gael TD, Peter Burke says it's another boost for business in the area:
Minister Burke's government and constituency colleague, Robert Troy has also been welcoming the news.
The Fianna Fáil TD and Junior Minister himself for Trade Promotion said;
"As Minister of State in the Department of Enterprise, I worked to develop the new IDA strategy and was committed to ensuring this facility was part of the new plan launched early last year.
"I am pleased that momentum is gathering to establish this facility here.
"Given the constructive engagement in the lead up to the submission, I hope this plan will move to the next stage as soon as practicable and I will continue to work with all stakeholders to see this ABS facility is established without delay."
