IFA Insists They Strongly Back Farmers On Beef Prices

The IFA were one of many bodies in attendance in Athlone on Saturday.

A Farming Independent report suggests the body is overly honing in on Mersocur and not enough on beef prices.

The IFA insists its doing everything it can to back farmers when it comes to beef prices.

It follows a Farming Independent report that suggested the Irish Farmer's Association's focus on the Mercosur Trade Deal has meant its failed to hold beef factories to account of pricing.

The deal will be the subject of an EU Parliament vote in the coming weeks despite major oppostion from farmers in many member states.
