IFA Urges Farmers To Sell Confidently As Beef Demand Strengthens

Declan Hanrahan expects summer food service demand to boost retail demand.

Retail beef sales have strengthened in key export markets, and farmers should see that reflected in higher factory prices, according to the Irish Farmers Association. 

IFA Livestock Chair Declan Hanrahan believes rising retail demand is expected to be further boosted by increased food service consumption over the summer.

He is urging farmers to sell confidently, as prices above official quotes are being paid for larger and specialist lots.
