"Ignore it" - Crime Prevention Officer's Advice For New Scam Recipients

The scam letter details allegations of child pornography and pedophilia.

Gardaí are advising people who receive a scam letter detailing allegations of child pornography and pedophilia not to engage with the sender.

The letter falsely states it's from the Garda Commissioner, and refers to a Gmail account the recipient can contact.  

Crime Prevention Officer in Westmeath Sgt John McWalters says Gardaí always investigate crimes personally, not via email or letter.
