Family Carers Ireland is highlighting the burden that's placed on households with disabilities.
Carers say they're being forced to dip into savings or go into debt to cover costs due to inadequate supports.
That's according to the Tullamore-based Family Carers Ireland, which says households with a child that has a disability are paying €1,000 more a month than those without additional caring needs.
Spokesperson, Catherine Cox, says more needs to be done to help struggling families:
