The event kicks off in Athlone from 6pm.
TUS is giving people of the midlands a chance to discover the 'infinite possibilities of science' this evening.
The event is kicking off in the university's International Arena in Athlone from 6 - 9pm.
The opportunity to use the institution's sport-science equipment and get specialist advice on nutrition will be on offer, and will focus on women's physical fitness and wellbeing.
3D motion analysis technology will be on display, and will highlight how it can be used to prevent injuries.
The event is open to everyone, from the casual gym-goer to high level-athletes.
Dr Robin Healy, a lecturer in the Department of Sport and Health Sciences at TUS says:
"The Science Week ethos is that science is for everyone, and we want our facilities to be available to everyone. We want to let the public in to see what sports science is really all about - from the fun stuff to the high tech stuff."
