The initiative sees €1 donated from each member of the branch.

A delegation from countries such as Gambia, Sierra Leone, Ethopia and Albania are coming to Mullingar Credit Union later today.

It's part of the International Credit Union Foundation fund's work to help developing counties form their own branches of credit union.

The initiative sees €1 donated from each member of the branch in Mullingar, which stands at 40,000.

Tom Allen from Mullingar Credit Union says the visit will allow the delegates to see how a modern credit union operates:
