Junior Minister Believes Taoiseach Should Make Washington Trip

Longford/Westmeath TD Robert Troy says Michael Martin has been leading by example.

A midlands junior minister believes the Taoiseach should make the traditional trip to Washington this St. Patrick's Day.

Fianna Fáil's Robert Troy says the unique opportunity to meet with the US president should not be dismissed as a non-essential trip.

Other government ministers and local authority members also travel around the world every March to promote global relations - although those trips have not been confirmed this year.
