Helen McEntee has issued a statement on the matter.
The Justice Minister is facing questions over the appointment of Judge Mary Morrissey to the Circuit Court.
She is the daughter of businessman Donal Morrissey, who developed various Lismard properties in Portlaoise, and once worked at the local legal firm of Fine Gael TD Charlie Flanagan.
Minister Helen McEntee denies any conversation with her predecessor about the selection of Judge Morrissey and says she wasn't aware she once worked for Deputy Flanagan.
Ms. Morrissey was appointed to her role on the same day as former Attorney General Séamus Woulfe was given office in the Supreme Court.
There is no suggestion of wrongdoing - but Sinn Fein's Justice Spokersperson Martin Kenny wants more information about the process:
