Unsuccessful presidential campaigner Gareth Sheridan says the current state of the election is undermining democracy.
The 36 year old dropped out of the race after he failed to secure the support of Offaly County Council on Monday.
Mr Sheridan greeted his failure to secure a nomination in the race by thanking his supporters and saying he had no regrets.
