Over 400 nightclubs have closed in Ireland since the early 2000s.
The lack of nightlife is leading to an increase in unregualted parties and raves.
That's according to Sinn Féin Local Election candidate in Offaly Aoife Masterson, who says in the early 2000s, Ireland has over 500 nightclubs, and that number has dropped to 85, with most centered around larger cities.
She's blaming the Government's failure to deliver on new licencing laws and says businesses, musicians and those working in the industry need more certainty.
