Laois County Council are hoping to solve a rat infestation in a housing estate of the end of the week.
Residents of Esker Hills in Portlaoise are expressing concern over an outbreak of rats near a pond at the entrance to the estate, comparing them to the size of 'small cats.'
Independent councillor Caroline Dwane Stanley is one of the local reps working to resolve the issue.
