His sentencing is set for May 15th.
A 39-year-old man who was found guilty of the manslaughter of 34-year-old Sharon Crean in county Laois in December 2022, will be sentenced next month.
Seán Egan of Rathmiles, Portarlington, County Laois appeared at Cork Central Criminal Court today via video link.
The mother-of-one died after being found by neighbours in the doorway of her home with injuries including stab wounds.
Seán Egan was charged with the murder of his then-partner at College Avenue, Mountmellick on the 14th of December 2022 and was found guilty of manslaughter by diminished responsibility following a trial last month.
Today in court, defence barrister Ray Boland told Ms Justice Siobhan Lankford an updated psychiatric report is available to the court.
Judge Lankford set a sentencing date for the 15th of May.
